WARNING!
The printer operates on a system voltage. Li-
quids entering the printer can cause serious
electrical injuries and burns to the body.
– Switch off the printer and remove from the
power supply prior to cleaning!
– Under no circumstances should water
enter the printer when cleaning!
WARNING!
Electrostatic discharges or contact with
sharps edges can damage the printhead.
– Discharge any static charge your body
may be carrying before touching the prin-
thead. Place one hand on an earthed ob-
ject near to you (e.g. radiator or water tap).
– Avoid touching the thermal edge with bare
hands.
– Do not allow sharp objects to come into
contact with the thermal edge.
Clean the printer regularly. The cleaning
intervals are dependent on the operation and
ambient conditions, daily operating times and
the print medium.
Cleaning the printer housing
Use a cloth and a commercially available
neutral cleaning agent.
Cleaning the print head
1. Switch off the printer. Unplug the mains
connector.
2. Remove label material and ribbon.
Before proceeding the next step, mark the
print head position on the axle!
3. Loosen both wing screws [A] until the print
head [B] may be rotated upwards as illustra-
ted.
4. Wipe the thermal edge at the print head using
a dust-free cloth and cleaning spirit.
5. Bring the print head back into the position
marked after step 2. Tighten the wing screws.
Cleaning the print roller
1. Dismantle the cutter or dispensing edge, if
one is prevailing.

2. Do as described under „Cleaning the print
head" steps 1-3.
3. Clean the print roller [C] using a dust-free
cloth and roller cleaning agent. Rotate the rol-
ler gradually, in order to clean it completely.
4. Bring the print head back into the marked
position. Tighten the wing screws.
Cleaning the feed roller, punch sensor
and the material end sensor
It´s advisable to clean those items together!
1. Remove the label material and the ribbon.
Before proceeding the next step, mark the
print head position on the axle!
2. Loosen both wing screws [A] until the print
head [B] may be removed from the axle. Pull
out both cables.
Push the contact rollers [F] aside!
3. Clean the feed roller [D] using a dust-free
cloth and roller cleaning agent. Rotate the rol-
ler gradually, in order to clean it completely.
4. Use compressed air to remove dust and
material residue from the punch sensor [E]
and from the material end sensor [G].
5. Bring the print head back into the marked
position. Tighten the wing screws. Plug in the
cables.
Cleaning the dispenser feed roller [H]
1. Switch off the printer. Unplug the mains
connector.
2. Remove label material and ribbon.
3. Pull out the pull-out module [I].
4. Clean the Dispenser feed roller [H] using a
dust-free cloth and roller cleaning agent.
Rotate the roller gradually, in order to clean it
completely.
5. Put the pull-out module back in again.
– On insertion, it is essential that the locking
lever points to the right (= half a revolution
open).
– Do not lock it until the drawing module has
been pushed in all the way to the limit
stop!
