Intended Use
Intended Use
The suction lifters are intended for lifting, carrying and holding objects having plane, sealed surfaces.
Other applications are not permitted.
Carrying capacity in kgs: 45
Safety precautions
Safety precautions
Suction lifters are manual tools and must not be used in connection with a crane or other lifting gear.
Though everything has been done to ensure maximum saftey when using the suction lifters, any misuse or wrong application of the suction lifters may
damage them and/or lead to a dangerous situation (e.g. unexpected release of a load), and consequently to a danger to the user or other persons.
Please pay attention to the following rules in order to achieve a high safety degree when using the suction lifter.
Never use the suction lifter to secure persons.
Only use the suction lifter if you have experience of handling it, or if your are supervised by a person who has experience of handling this tool.
Suction lifters are available in various designs with different carrying capacities. The specified values apply to new suction lifters and to clean, dry and
plane glass (float glass) at an ambient temperature of 20°C after generating the maximum vacuum.
The holding force is significantly reduced and may even be completely lost at low temperatures, with humidity or with dirt accumulation, especially in
the case of neglected or damaged suction pads, and if other materials than flat glass (e.g. structural glass, plastic, stone, metal, etc.) are lifted or
carried.
You should always check the suitability of the suction lifter for the intended use. Secure the objects to be lifted or carried by other means if necessary.
Follow the instructions in this instruction manual.
Functionl description
Functionl description
The vacuum generation causes a load effect on the suction surface of the object. This load effect may further increase during the use of the equiqment.
It is the duty of the user to ensure that this fact leads to no damages (e.g. broken glass with thin glass or bending of thin sheets). It is likewise necessary
to make sure that the suction surface is capable of taking up the load to be applied via the suction pad (e.g. carring housings, holding of appliances).
In the case of suction lifters with lever the vacuum is generated by pushing over the lever, in the case of suction pads with hand pump by actuating the
hand pump.
Note
Note
The suction pads are made of highly adhesive natural rubber. After being used for the first time, and after very long applications, a dark ring may
remain on the material carried. This ring can normally be easily removed using cleaning spirit. You should nevertheless test the cleaning effect on a
concealed spot of the base material first.
Handling
Handling
Before using the suction lifter, always check that it is in proper service condition.
You should pay particular attention to the rubber pad: it must show no damages and no cracks.
Always check the rubber pad before use for possible operational limitation due to reduced elasticity, e.g. because of ageing, wear, inexpert
maintenance or inappropriate storage.
Replace any damaged rubber pads or any rubber pads showing a limited holding force without delay.
The suction surface and the rubber pad must be clean, dry and free of grease. The holding force is significantly reduced on uneven, rough and porous
surfaces, up to a point where the holdling force may be totally lost. Any dirt accumulation may damage the base material, the rubber pad and possibly
also the pump mechanism.
Suction process
Suction process
Press the suction lifter firmly against the suction surface. The rubber pads must be relieved from pressure and lie flat on the surface before doing so.
Suction lifters with lever
Generate the vacuum by pushing over the lever (1). The resistance due to vacuum generation must be clearly perceptible.

Danger of injury!
Danger of injury!
The load must not exceed the specified carring capacity.
Never move loads carried by means of the suction lifter over persons.
Avoid any lateral pressure on the suction pad during carrying.
Ensure that the warning elements remain visible and are not blocked or obstructed during carrying.
If the vacuum decreases, the load must be set down at once, and the suction lifter must be reattached.
Never activate the release devicess during carrying.
The suction lifter should only be used for short-time lifting, carrying or holding of objects.
In the case of extended attachment times, you have to check the suction lifter for firm hold and secure this at regular intervals. Repeat the attachment
producedure of the suction lifter as soon as you have any doubts about its holding force.
Releasing
Releasing
Attention!
Attention!
Never use pointed or sharp-edged objects (e.g. screw drivers) for lifting the suction pad. The suction pad will be damaged by this and become useless.
Check that the load being lifted or the objekt attached is well secured.
Release the lever (2). The rubber pad returns to its orginal flat shape.
Take the suction lifter off the suction surface. If the rubber pad "sticks", use your finger to lift one side of the rubber pad so that air can flow underneath
it. The "sticking" sometimes happens with new rubber pads and does not affect the function in any way.
Storage
Storage
Never place the rubber pads of the suction lifter on a sharp object.
Always store the suction lifter in relieved position and in a clean place, or in the storage box.
Maintenance and care
Maintenance and care
Arrange for the suction lifter with hand pump to be checked once a year by our specialists.
Only use orginal spare parts.
Always keep the suction lifter, and especially the rubber pad, clean and free of any oil, grease and dust.
Clean the suction surfaces at regular intervals using spirit or similar, nonagressive cleansing agents.
Never expose the rubber pad to sunlight for a longer period of time, otherwise it will loose its elastictiy faster.
Lubricate the pins of the lever with a drop of oil from time to time, if necessary, in order to avoid any friction when actuating the lever.
