Saw chain tension adjustment

Before you start

Carefully fit attachment drive shaft assembly into coupler (B)
to decal assembly line (C), making sure that the inner lower
drive shaft engages into the square upper drive shaft socket.
NOTE
Lower bearing housing and head assembly must be in line with
the motor unit.

Rotate locator pin (A) 1/4 turn clockwise to engage lower
shaft hole. Insure locator pin is fully engaged by twisting low-
er drive shaft. Locator pin should snap flush in coupler. Full
engagement will prevent further shaft rotation.
6.
Secure lower shaft assembly to coupler by tightening clamp-
ing knob (D).
7.
To disassemble, reverse assembly instructions.

Remove screws (A) and handle halves from the power
source.
2.
Loosely attach handle halves together and store handle as-
sembly for later use.
 Wear gloves when handling saw chain.
Serious personal injury may result.
 A loose chain can jump off the guide bar causing dam-
age to the chain and associated equipment. Always
make sure the chain is properly adjusted; check more
often when you are breaking in a new chain.
IMPORTANT
 Proper chain adjustment is essential for maximum perfor-
mance, long chain life, and operator safety. Always inspect
chain tension before operating product.
1.
Place unit on a clean, flat surface. (For readjustment during
operation, turn power to unit off and remove battery, then al-
low the guide bar and chain to cool before proceeding with
the adjustment procedure.)
2.
Loosen the sprocket cover nut (A) with the socket wrench.
3.
Lift the nose of the guide bar while turning the chain tension-
ing screw (B).
 clockwise to tighten the chain.
 anticlockwise to loosen the chain.
