2. Frequently monitor the build up/collection of shredded
material.
3. Do not allow shredded material to build up and fill the
inside of the shredders discharge chute.
4. When the collection box is full, press the On/Off switch
to turn the garden shredder Off before emptying.
WARNING!
Do not put your hands up inside the shredder's discharge
chute to clear away shredded material while the shredder
is switched on or connected to the mains supply.
NOTE
In normal use, do not switch off the garden shredder until
all of the shredded material has cleared the cutter as-
sembly. If the garden shredder is switched off too quickly,
remaining pieces of material may clog the blade assem-
bly and stall the motor when the shredder is switched
back on.
Troubleshooting
The motor does not run
• The overload protection has responded
Set the reversing switch to position B and press the
reset button, keep the on/off switch pressed to switch
on the shredder for a short period. After the blocking has
been removed, reset the reversing switch to position A.
• Power failure
Check the power supply cord, the plug and your house
connection fuse and RCD.
• Safety switch on the collection box not locked in
position.
Ensure collection box is in position and locked.
The material to be chopped is not pulled in
• The chopping knife is running backwards.
Change the direction of rotation.
• The material is jammed in the feeding tunnel
Set the reversing switch to position B and switch on
the shredder. Pull the material from the feeding funnel.
Re-feed thick branches such that the chopping knife
does not immediately grasp the pre-cut notches again.
• The cutting blade is blocked
Set the reversing switch to position B and switch on the
shredder The chopping knife will now run backwards
to release the blocked-up material.
Caution! Change the direction of rotation to the
desired position after the shredder has come to
a complete standstill.
Care and maintenance
WARNING!
Before commencing cleaning and maintenance
procedures, make sure the garden shredder is
switched off and disconnected from the mains
supply. Always wear sturdy leather gloves when
cleaning the cutter blades.
1. To ensure the best performance from the garden
shredder, it must be kept clean.
2. Always clean the garden shredder immediately after
use.
3. Do not allow material to become dry and hard on any
of the garden shredder surfaces. This will directly af-
fect the shredding performance.
4. Make sure that the feeder chute and the ejection chute
are kept clean and clear of all waste material.
5. Make sure that all nuts, bolts and screws are tight and
secure.
6. Always have any damaged, or worn parts repaired, or
replaced by qualified personnel.
CAUTION
1. Do not over tighten the plate adjustment screw and cut
excessive aluminium off of the plate, as this will reduce
the life of your shredder.
2. Have your garden shredder inspected and maintained
by qualified service personnel. Do not attempt to repair
the machine unless you are qualified to do so.
Storage
Make sure that the garden shredder has been thoroughly
cleaned before storing it in a clean, dry place out of the
reach of children.
Repair Service
Attention! Electrical repairs may only be carried
out by a skilled electrician or a customer service
workshop!
If you send the machine to us for repair, please describe
the fault.
Waste disposal and environmental protection
If your device should become useless somewhere in the
future or you do not need it any longer, do not dispose of
the device together with your domestic refuse, but dis-
pose of it in an environmentally friendly manner. Please
dispose of the device itself at an according collecting/
recycling point. By doing so, plastic and metal parts can
be separated and recycled. Information concerning the
disposal of materials and devices are available from your
local administration.
