• Check the machine for damage:
- Safety devices must be carefully checked for fault-free and appropriate function before using the machine again.
- Check that moving parts function flawlessly and do not jam, or whether parts are damaged. All parts must be cor-
rectly installed and fulfil all conditions in order to ensure the fault-free operation of the hedge trimmer.
- Damaged protective devices and parts must be properly repaired by us or an approved specialist work shop or
replaced, unless otherwise stated in the operating instructions.
- Damaged or illegible safety stickers must be replaced.
• Never leave Allen keys inserted!
• Before switching on always check that Allen keys and tools have been removed.
• Keep the tool in a dry, enclosed area when it is not being used, and out of the reach of children.

Handling fuel
Fuels and fuel vapours are flammable and can cause serious damage if they are inhaled or come into
contact with the skin. You should therefore exercise caution when handling fuel, and ensure good ven-
tilation.
• Switch off the motor and allow the tool to cool down before filling up.
• Avoid naked flames when filling up.
• Wear gloves when filling up.
• Do not fill up in enclosed areas (risk of explosion).
• Do not spill any fuel or oil. Clean the hedge trimmer immediately, if fuel or oil is spilled. If fuel or oil is spilled over
it, change your clothing.
• Do not allow any fuel to get into the soil.
• After filling, carefully close the petrol cap again and check that it does not come open during operation.
• Make sure that the filler cap and fuel lines are leaktight. The tool must not be used if there are leaks.
• Fuels may only be transported and stored in containers which are labelled and approved for this purpose.
• Do not transport or store fuels in the vicinity of combustible or highly flammable materials/substances, or near
sparks or naked flames. Keep fuel away from children.
• Before starting the tool, move to a sufficient distance from the area used for filling.
