wARNiNg:
When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Use of any other parts may create a hazard or cause
product damage.
wARNiNg:
Always wear eye protection with side shields marked
to comply with ANSI Z87.1 during product operation. If
operation is dusty, also wear a dust mask.
wARNiNg:
Before performing any maintenance, make sure the tool
is unplugged from the power supply and the switch is
in the OFF position. Failure to heed this warning could
result in serious personal injury.

gENERAL MAiNTENANCE

Avoid using solvents when cleaning plastic parts. Most
plastics are susceptible to damage from various types of
commercial solvents and may be damaged by their use. Use
clean cloths to remove dirt, dust, oil, grease, etc.
wARNiNg:
Do not at any time let brake fluids, gasoline, petroleum-
based products, penetrating oils, etc., come in contact
with plastic parts. Chemicals can damage, weaken, or
destroy plastic which may result in serious personal injury.
 Periodically check all clamps, nuts, bolts, and screws for
tightness and condition. Make sure the throat plate is in
good condition and in position.
 Check the blade guard.

MAiNTENANCE

 Clean the fence and rails with a gum and pitch remover.
 Clean plastic parts only with a soft damp cloth. DO
NOT use any aerosol or petroleum solvents.
LUBRiCATiON
All of the bearings in this tool are lubricated with a sufficient
amount of high grade lubricant for the life of the unit under
normal operating conditions.
Some areas will require lubrications. You will need to
apply:
 Light oil or a pressurized light spray oil to the sliding
rails.
TO REMOVE / REPLACE ThE ThROAT PLATE
See Figure 23, page 22.
The throat plate must be below the saw table. If the throat
plate is too high or too low, the workpiece can catch on
the uneven edges resulting in binding which could result
in serious personal injury.
Never operate the saw without a throat plate installed.
To remove / replace:
 Unplug the saw.
 Remove the screws securing the throat plate.
 Lift the throat plate from the saw. Repeat the above
steps for the left side of the throat plate.
 To reinstall the throat plate, align the holes in the throat
plate with the holes in the saw base.
 Retighten the screws, being careful not to overtighten
which can cause the throat plate to bow or bend.
