3 Applications
This set of speaker systems consists of an active
speak er system with a 2-channel amplifier and
a passive speaker system . The speaker cabinets
are de signed as bass reflex systems . As 2-way
systems, they are equipped with a bass speaker
and a dome tweeter . With this set, existing HiFi
stereo systems can be extended in an optimum
way . However, the speaker systems can also be
used for PA and DJ applications .

4 Before Operation

4.1 Setting up /
Installing the speaker systems
1 . For setting up the speaker systems on their
own, remove the mounting brackets (1) . To
do so, unscrew the two mounting screws (2) .
2 . For using the speaker systems as wall speak-
ers, fasten them with screws to the wall via
their mounting brackets (1) . To make handling
easier, remove the brackets first . To do so, un-
screw the two mounting screws (2) . Fasten
the brackets to the wall and then fasten the
speaker systems with screws to the brackets .
4.2 Connecting
Always switch off the active speaker system
before making or changing any connections .
1) Connect the terminal strip OUTPUT (8) via
a speak er cable (e . g . series SPC- . . . from
MONACOR) to the terminal strip INPUT of the
passive speaker system . Connect the red ter-
minals with each other and the black terminals
with each other .

2) Connect the signal source to the jacks
INPUT  (7) . It is possible to connect the line
output of a mixer, of a CD player, of a power
amplifier, or of any other audio unit .
When the left channel of the signal source
is connected to the jack "L" and the right
channel to the jack "R", the active speaker
system will reproduce the left channel and the
passive speaker system will reproduce the right
channel .
3) Finally connect the supplied mains cable to
the mains jack (9) and to a mains socket
(230 V/ 50 Hz) .
4.3 Operation
WARNING Never adjust a very high vol-
ume . Permanent high volumes
may damage your hearing! Your
ear will get accustomed to high
volumes which do not seem to be
that high after some time . Therefore, do not
further increase a high volume after getting
used to it .
1) Switch on the signal source connected .
2) To prevent switching noise: Before switching on,
set the VOLUME control (3) to MIN . Then switch
on the active speaker system with the POWER
switch (6) . The POWER LED (5) lights up .
3) Adjust the desired volume with the VOLUME
control (3) .
4) Adjust an optimum sound with the two con-
trols HIGH and LOW (4) .
5) After operation, switch off the unit with the
switch POWER .
