Turbine/Compressor Maintenance cont.
Electrical Connections
Study Fig. 3 before attempting any further maintenance
to your turbine unit.
*Final Connections Not Illustrated - See P. 14 for Wiring Diagram
Colors indicated are 110V units.
Note: Wire colors could be substituted during assembly.
Always label wires before attempting any service to your unit.
Exhaust Fan Removal
Exhaust fan replacement requires removing the top
cover which is fastened by eleven screws and washers.
With the cover removed you will see the exhaust fan
located at the rear of the turbine unit. The exhaust fan
is best removed by leaving it fastened to its mounting
bracket assembly, and removing the entire assembly
from the outside frame assembly.
Note: With proper filter maintenance, a turbine motor
will run trouble free for an extended period of time.
Eventually, however, the carbon brushes will wear and
need to be replaced. It is recommended that the unit
be taken to a service center for evaluation. Refer to the
troubleshooting chart below.

Air Compressor Removal
It is recommended that the exhaust fan and compressor
motor intake filters be removed prior to the air
compressor removal. The instructions for the removal of
the exhaust fan and filters have been detailed in previous
sections. All electrical connections should also be
removed prior to proceeding with air compressor removal.
Note: With component removal of this degree, it is the
perfect time to inspect the interior of the outside frame
assembly and wipe it down.
Before removing the air compressor, the two shrouds
need to be removed. The shrouds are made of foam and
are compressible. The shrouds are easily worked on and
off by hand.
The air compressor is fastened to the outside frame
assembly by three screws located on the bottom of
the turbine unit. The air compressor is raised from the
outside frame assemblies floor by three spacers.
With the three screws removed, the air compressor can
be taken out. The two red air hoses attached to the air
compressor, as well as the elbow, are sealed with pipe
sealant paste. Do not use pipe sealant tape.
